Why collecting deposits is free
The free plan is the whole workflow, not a cut-down preview. Marking a product, setting its amount and jurisdiction, adding the deposit line at checkout without editing your theme, and keeping a record of every deposit collected are all included, and always will be. Gating any of those would leave a free merchant with an app that does not do its job.
What Premium adds
Premium covers what happens after you have collected the money: proving what you collected, by jurisdiction, for a given period, to whoever requires it on a deadline. That is the remittance report — deposits totalled by month and jurisdiction — and the CSV export for filing and reconciliation. It is also the only part of the workflow a merchant cannot reasonably run from a notepad, which is why it is the part we charge for. Premium also removes the free plan's monthly limit on deposit orders.
The free plan's monthly limit
A deposit order is an order that contains at least one deposit line. On the free plan you can record up to 25 deposit orders per calendar month. The count resets on the 1st of each month, and only orders that actually carry a deposit count, so a quiet month costs you nothing and a month of selling non-deposit products does not use up your limit.
To be precise about what the limit does today: it counts and tells you. The app shows your usage against the limit on its plan panel. It does not block a customer's checkout, so a busy month will not fail a sale while you decide on Premium.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed by Shopify and appear on your regular Shopify invoice. Theoria Associates never sees or stores your payment details, and no separate account or card is needed. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your Shopify admin at any time; cancelling returns the store to the free plan, which keeps working.
There is no annual plan and no free trial on Premium.
